Scope and editorial policy
The authors interested in publishing in Ingeniare. Revista chilena de ingeniería must send their works adjusted according to the rules and formatting stated bellow.
The topics must be related to engineering fields: electronics, electricity, computing, mechanics, industry, metallurgy, chemistry, engineering teaching and other related disciplines.
When submitting a paper the authors should do the following:
· Send a cover letter declaring that the article has not been submitted or published in any other journal, except in congress presentations or thesis. Download.
· From 2021, authors must have an ORCID identifier when submitting a manuscript. This identifier must be included in the cover letter.
· The authors must agree to the contents of the submitted paper and have actively contributed to the publication.
· In order to maintain an updated database and reduce revision time, a list of five potential reviewers must be given, indicating their affiliation and e-mail addresses.
· The proposed evaluators should have high-level of expertise in the relevant field of research and they should not be related to the institution where the author(s) belong.
· The affiliation, e-mail address and academic degree of each evaluator must be stated.
· The letter must be signed by all authors.
· The content of the article is an exclusive responsibility of the authors.
· In the event that the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors must sign over the publishing rights to the Ingeniare. Revista chilena de Ingeniería.
Form and preparation of manuscripts
Publication guidelines for authors
The work submitted for evaluation must not grant "Copyright" to third parties. The editor reserves the right to make minor editing changes to achieve better work presentation. The work can be presented in English (preferably) and Spanish.
Publication characteristics
The following types of contributions are considered:
· Original contribution.Meaningful investigation outcome that contribute to knowledge within the discipline, development or implementation of technological systems. These articles are submitted to peer review.
· Reviews.Significant summary of the current state of a topic related to Engineering; it is advisable to consult the editor if the review article is relevant. These articles undergo the same submission process as regular papers.
· Special reports. Tutorials that contribute to teaching in the discipline or papers related to current trends in engineering; occasionally could be considered as editorials with author consent. Thus, prior to submitting the paper, authors are invited to contact the editor. The editorials will be reviewed by the Editorial Board of Ingeniare, and if strictly necessary will be submitted to peer review.
The editor is responsible for authorizing the publication of papers whose content is exclusively the responsibility of the authors. Any modification or rejections will be communicated by explanatory notes to all authors.
Submission of the articles
The articles cannot be longer than 25 pages and must respect the following format:

Letter-size paper.

Title of the article, centered in bold, with type letter Calibri 16 pt., Must be written following the international standards and orthographic rules of the corresponding language (Example: "Titles of articles: format"), must be written in English and Spanish, ordered according to the language of presentation of the manuscript clearly indicating the subject of the article. This should be brief, but precise in the idea it represents.

Authors: Following the main title, the name of the authors should be included, with superscript numbers indicating their institutional affiliation. This affiliation must be in the following region of the authors, identified by Arabic numbers, containing: institution/university, city, country and email corresponding to each author. Please, do not translate the original names of the institutions, do not use abbreviations. Once the work is received, author modifications will not be allowed.

Abstract: The text begins with Summary and then the English translation, Abstract. The summary will consist of no more than 250 words, briefly specifying: what the author has done, how he did it (only if it is essential to detail it), the main results, the relevance of the results. The summary is an abbreviated but comprehensive representation of the article and must inform about the objective, methodology, and results of the work described.

Keywords: In the following line of the respective summary and abstract should include at least three keywords that define the content of the article. It is recommended that the keywords differ from those included in the title and must correspond to the content of the manuscript. Do not place words like "study," analysis," method," and so on. Since they are words that can mainly be applied to any article and are not differentiating.

The introduction (Title, size 16pt) and the body should be written with font type Calibri 12 pt., With single line spacing (0 px). Titles: centered in bold with capital letters, type letter Calibri 16 pt. Subsections/subparagraphs of secondary paragraphs: Font size 14, centered, in bold. Subsections of subsection format in size bold and centered.
The rest of the text should be written with Calibri font, font size 12 pt., Simple paragraph format and without indentation. Footnotes: must be at the end of each page, font size 10 and justified.

The INTRODUCTION should guide the reader regarding the problem presented and include: the nature of the problem, background or previous work, the purpose or proper motivation of the article. This should be developed in a page and a half, at most.

The body will contain, in detail, the fundamental information of the article. It must also consider the objective of the information presented, which must be delivered in a clear and concise manner. The writing of the works will be objective and impersonal. The author will take care that the form conforms to the norms of presentation, correction in the language and use of terminologies accepted by scientific organisms.

All equations, figures, and photographs must have a number that identifies them, to which reference will be made in the text. Make sure the number is unique in the document. The figures and photographs must be clear and also have an explanatory legend at the bottom of them. Figure 1, equation (1), Table 1, Figure 2, equation (2), etc.

Figures: must be in the body of the text, inserted in png or jpg format and centered. The images must be in line with the text. Images are considered: graphs, charts, photographs, diagrams and, in some cases, tables and equations.

The font in the header of the Figure: Font smaller than 12 pt and centered with respect to the image.

Tables of type text: The title of the columns of the tables must be in bold and the data of the body of the table with normal font. The scientific names must be in italics.

Source at the bottom of the table: Font smaller than 12 pt and centered concerning the table.

Numerical citations must be in parentheses and superscript format (1). Maximum 50 citations, preferably citing references of first source (main works, those of greater relevance, not their derivatives). Pay attention to the use of commas and points.

The equations must be written in Math Type. Make sure that the equation number is unique in the document.
The author must explain or name what each symbol used in the equations means, if necessary.
The author must refer to all the equations, figures and tables exposed in the article.
The CONCLUSIONS will have to be clearly defined and must cover the following: what is demonstrated in the work, its relevance, advantages and limitations, application of the results and perspectives in the future.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS may be included, remarking the persons or institutions that collaborated in intellectual, material or financial matters.
The REFERENCES will be indicated with a number in parentheses and as superscript (N °), and they will be listed at the end of the publication with numbers in square brackets [N °]. Maximum 50 citations, preferably citing references of first source (main works, those of greater relevance, not their derivatives). Pay attention to the use of commas and points. They should be based on indexed journals, books or patents and be presented as follows:
Magazine articles:

In case of a reference taken from the Internet, the name of the URL of the site, the day, month and year of consultation should be written as indicated below. Do not use hyperlinks.

Articles may contain references to authors' works, as long as the citations correspond to the most pertinent and relevant of the topic developed.
The final proof of the respective article approved for publication will be sent to the authors, before its printing, in a PDF file for approval. Only typographical or editing errors can be indicated for printing correction. These tests must be returned to the Editor in no more than 48 hours after being received, also indicating that Ingeniare is authorized. Chilean Journal of Engineering publication of the manuscript.
Important note:
The EQUATIONS must be written in Math Type. Both figures, equations, and TABLES must have a number that identifies them, to which reference will be made in the text. The figures and photographs must be clear, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, they must be numbered and have an explanatory legend at the bottom of them. The Tables should be numbered, and the title of these should be on the top of it.
Periodicity: Ingeniare. Chilean engineering magazine publishes four issues a year (quarterly).
Submission of manuscripts (Submission template)
The manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word and PDF format, according to the instructions presented.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the standards and publication format will not be considered suitable to be entered into the review process and will be returned to the authors.

Declare that the article has not been submitted or published in another journal, except for presentations of congresses or theses.

The authors must agree with the content of the article and have actively contributed to the publication.

The proposed evaluators should be experts in the topic of the article and cannot be linked to the institution to which the authors of the work belong.

Sending of manuscripts
Acceptable formats for the manuscript are Microsoft Word and PDF. In case you would like to send your manuscript, you should register as author and send the manuscript through our website: http://cl.submission.scielo.org/index.php/ingeniare/.
Manuscripts that fail to meet the standards and publication format will not be considered suitable to enter the review process and will be returned to the authors.
Prior to printing, final version of the approved article will be sent to the authors in PDF file, for revision.
Only typographical or editorial errors can be indicated and corrected. Within 48 hours, it must be returned to the Editor, stating as well the authorization to Ingeniare. Revista chilena de ingeniería, to publish the manuscript.
