Abstract

Biocomposite materials reinforced with natural fibers offer good mechanical characteristics and reduce ecological impact. However, their use in dynamic applications is limited due to a lack of studies on their vibrational behavior. In this work, an experimental dynamic vibratory characterization was conducted through modal analysis on fique fiber-reinforced biocomposites, evaluating the impact on modal parameters. The biocomposites, manufactured with randomly distributed fique fiber layers and polyester resin, showed an increase in natural frequency and high damping. Potential applications include vibration and sound insulators.
