Optimization of environmental actions in company that exploits stone aggregates in La Guajira, Colombia

This study determined the environmental actions of a mining company dedicated to exploiting stone aggregates in La Guajira to optimize its production processes. The methodology involved visits to the mine facilities, identification of environmental impacts, and proposal of measures to prevent, mitigate, or compensate for these impacts. The results show that air is the most susceptible resource to environmental impacts due to extraction, processing, and commercialization processes. It is concluded that implementing coherent and sustainable environmental actions can significantly improve the local development of the mining company in its social and environmental aspects, as well as optimize its production processes.
