Abstract

The study aimed to identify the industrial productive units operating in this region and possible linkages between these industrial companies, which would allow for in-depth actions to promote their growth. A mixed approach research method was used, taking elements of the non-experimental-transectional-descriptive design of the quantitative approach and elements of the phenomenological design of the qualitative approach, and data mining tools were used for the analysis of the information. It can be concluded that very few production units export their products, their main market being regional and, to a lesser extent, local and national, considering the study’s results. The primary source of these productive groups' raw materials and supplies is national and, to a lesser extent, foreign suppliers, given that most of them endeavor to prefer local suppliers more than half the time. Very few companies are willing to look for markets beyond the southeast, which could be considered a limiting factor in the growth of the size of Yucatecan companies.
