Abstract

The communication technologies applied in solutions with Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, and Machine to Machine are the fundamental pillars for energy management. This work focuses on applications for achieving Smart Cities that aim to prioritize quality of life through Information and Communication Technologies. The study identifies communication technologies for the energy scenario, including emergency alarms and data sent by Smart Meters. Finally, the most appropriate Technologies-Standards for each type of infrastructure in the energy scenario are analyzed and compared.
