Abstract

A ball-and-plate platform is a dynamic system used to apply modeling and control concepts. This study proposes a state feedback controller using the pole assignment method to maintain the position of a sphere on a mobile plate with two degrees of freedom. The sphere’s position is measured in real time using computer vision. Experimental results showed that the plant-controller system is stable and responds satisfactorily to position disturbances around a reference point.
