This article explains the work carried out to cluster seismic events in northern Chile to identify potential geographic areas where first response points can be deployed in case of catastrophes. The CRISP-DM methodology was used, applying six clustering algorithms and evaluating the results with internal validation indices. The best results were obtained with DBSCAN, identifying locations such as Achuleo, north of Pisagua, Pozo Almonte, and Caleta Chipana as candidate sectors for establishing response points. It is concluded that density-based algorithms are the most recommended for this type of analysis.
