Experimental comparison between the sensitivity and cementation on the undrained behaviour of clayed soils

This paper presents an experimental study that compares the effect of sensitivity against cementation in the recovery of stress-strain properties in clayey soils from the Sabana de Bogotá. Unconfined shear strength and compression tests were performed on natural, remoulded, and improved samples with calcium carbonate and iron oxide. Results show that the addition of iron oxide allows stress-strain parameters close to the undisturbed state after remoulding.
