Abstract

This article designs a new two-dimensional cyclic code that corrects burst errors and also detects and corrects slip errors. Class A noise, characterized by burst noise affecting several consecutive bits plus Gaussian noise, is addressed in this work. A two-dimensional code is proposed to reduce burst noise and correct synchronization errors caused by bit slips at the receiver. A channel with Class A noise is simulated to evaluate the code’s performance, showing that it significantly improves the reliability of the communication system by reducing both bit error probability and synchronization errors.
