Abstract

Digital transformation has revolutionized how industries operate, improving the efficiency and quality of products and services through the integration of advanced technologies. The collection and analysis of large data volumes and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are essential for informed decision-making and the operations optimization. Artificial Intelligence as a Service (AIaaS) enables access to advanced technologies as black boxes, making it easier for companies to implement AI solutions without significant technical expertise or infrastructure investments. This article explores AIaaS impact on the industry and highlighting its role in the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, which focuses on human-machine collaboration and sustainability. In addition, the evolution of agile methodologies and their integration with emerging technologies is examined. A review of current and potential applications supported by AIaaS is presented, along with an analysis of these technologies’ opportunities, challenges, and limitations.
