Abstract

A new microstrip antenna system is presented in this work, where rectangular slots are inserted and their dimensions and separation are determined by different orders of the Cantor sequence. Return losses were analyzed to determine the effect of this slot sequence on the patch, showing the generation of dual-band behavior in the range of 1 to 6 GHz. The antenna was designed using up to the fourth iteration of the Cantor sequence, resulting in two resonance frequencies. Computational and experimental results show high concordance.
