In software development, smells are parts of source code that suggest deeper problems such as duplicated code. Identifying, correcting, and preventing these smells require specific knowledge and skills, which can be learned and improved. This paper introduces Smellware, an educational game designed to teach best practices in the software development process. It helps developers recognize different types of smells and raises awareness about the effects of bad practices in software development.
